I had a terrible experience here. While I was out with friends, another customer took my phone and demanded money for me to get it back. I went straight to the bartenders for help, and instead of intervening, they told me to just pay him. I felt completely unsafe, unsupported, and shocked that the staff would respond that way. I highly recommend you take your business elsewhere. Especially if you’re a tourist.
Pretty cool place to spend the night with friends or alone. Puerto Ricans are pretty friendly and you can make friends here pretty easy. Also , keep in mind lol 😂 if you want to use a dark room have enough patience to say - no over and over again to the same older guys that are going to be touching you. Looks like they’re staying there all night long purposely just to make you feel uncomfortable.
I visited SX on 10/29/2025 and really enjoyed it. The bartenders were friendly, the music was on point, the service was solid, and the drinks were affordable. PR doesn't seem to have many gay bars. The street where they are all located, including this one, was quiet even on Halloween. SX caters mainly to gay men, which I love. I'd definitely return next time I'm in PR.
I would not go here again. drinks are overpriced which I wouldn't mind but they don't even have cocktails so 0 variety when it comes to the drinks. Music is just the same rhythm on repeat,the strippers are straight men looking for a quick buck and they don't even dance. Space and atmosphere is shady which I guess is the reason people go there but if you just looking for a fun night try elsewhere. They also charge admission fee and you can feel the dirty mess in the air. Both times I've gone I've seen people have issues with the security...so wouldn't exactly call it a safe space. They also have no parking and no wheelchair accessibility. So overall I would not recommend anyone here unless they looking for trouble. Also careful is not tourist friendly.
Go there after 10:00 p.m. and I'm telling you 10 out of 10 highy recommend it was so much fun. Do not judge a book by its cover because it was so much fun
